BioSupPack’s partner, Nafigate Corporation, received isolates of Burkholderia sacchari and Halomonas halophili in November 2021.
Nafigate Corporation confirmed that both strains are going to be used in the fermentation process in order to produce PHB from the brewer’s spent grain. Halomonas halophili was chosen for the initial small-scale tests. Bacterium has been cultivated in a 14 liters fermentor and solution of glucose was used as a substrate during the first trial.
